Welcome to the e-zine, "Ordinary People Can Win!"
We are dedicated to helping ordinary people achieve extraordinary success in all areas of life.
I have a funny story about today's article. I ran it many months ago. A few days later, as I checked into a hotel in Dallas, the desk clerk wished me a nice stay and hoped that I could get the shower adjusted properly. She had looked up my website out of curiosity when she saw my unusual e-mail address on the reservation. She made me feel like a celebrity.
Many of you have taken great interest in my friend Nick Marriam who contracted cancer at age seven, beat it, and set up a program to help kids who find themselves in the same difficulties.
Nick has now set up a non-profit foundation to further his work.
I strongly encourage you to go to his new website at http://www.nickelbyproject.org
and help Nick provide gift bags to children spending months in the hospital during their treatments.
I appreciate your feedback. You encourage me and give me excellent suggestions. Thank you for helping me create better service and products for all of my subscribers and customers.

Hotel Showers and Life
by David DeFord
Goal achievement, by its very nature, takes you out of your routine.
To achieve the higher results you desire you must change your ways and move into unfamiliar territory. You try new approaches and when you donít get the desired results you adjust and try again.
Because I spend considerable time away from home, I often use unfamiliar hotel room showers. At home I know exactly where I need to set the knobs to get the shower temperature I want. But on the road I cannot get the results I want if I adjust the knobs exactly like I would at home.
I take a guess and turn the knobs to an initial position. If, when I test the water with my hand I find it too hot, I donít give up in disgust and wash at the sinkóI adjust the knobs and try again.
I continue testing and adjusting, testing and adjusting until I get the water to the right temperature. I have yet to stay in a hotel room where I wasnít able to get the water to the temperature I want.
When you strive to achieve your goals and leave your familiar ways, you will rarely hit your targets on your first tries. When you fail to achieve your goals on the first try, you must not give up in disgust and decide the goal was flawed. You must test and adjust, test and adjust until you reach your dreams.
Keep at it.
Donít adjust your dreams, adjust your approach.
With persistence and continual tweaking you will get your life to a setting you love.

I've just read "Ordinary People Can Achieve Their Lofty Goals" for the 3rd time in 3 days. The first time, I only got to page 10 before I felt so inspired that I had to stop and finish off some work on some goals I'd let slip. The second time, I just couldn't put the book down. I read and re-read the articles and learnt so much. What an amazing collection. So profound and uplifting. The third time, I decided to cancel everything else and devote a couple of hours to the book and read them all through. It's like a Masterclass in Motivation. My mood lifted so much, I felt so inspired at the end. It's definitely going to be a book I'm going to come back to again and again. Brilliant concept, brilliant execution, brilliant results.
By the way, there's no hype in that paragraph. That's exactly how it was. Eric Garner
