Magnets operate contrarily to a valuable life principle. In a simple children’s experiment students try to force two magnets together and find that the positive pole of each magnet forcefully repels the positive pole of the other. No matter how hard the child tries to force the magnet together, the force of the repelling poles keeps the magnets apart.
In real life, positive powerfully attracts positive.
Positive thoughts attract positive results.
Positive attitudes attract positive reactions from others.
Positive appearances attract positive impressions.
People enjoy being in the presence of positive people.
Positive people expect good things to happen to them, and through those expectations, they generally get what they expect.
Positive expectations combined with positive actions will certainly result in more success than negative expectations and actions.
A batter who expects to strikeout most likely will.
If you expect your prospect to refuse to purchase your product, she probably will.
Negative attracts negative.
Some events may not be influenced by your positive bent, but your response with the event will.
For instance, your positive attitude may not determine whether your flight leaves on time. But, the nature of your reaction to the delay will certainly determine the positive or negative outcome.
Recently, I trained hundreds of clients on using some new software. My companion, the client’s representative, had a well-known reputation of making life terribly difficult for previous trainers.
I went into the project with the expectation of high cooperation and teamwork.
As I met her negative energy with my own positive, she soon adopted my positive attitude. The training experience, while exhausting and emotionally draining for my predecessor, was invigorating and enjoyable for me.
I believe that just as light has more power than darkness, and good more energy than evil, so does positive over the negative.
Conduct your own experiments and you’ll see that life does not operate like magnets—positive and negative attract themselves.
"It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than
anything else, will affect its successful outcome." William James
“Often our attitudes bring about the treatment life hands us. By our attitudes we can influence whether we find favor or victim hood.” David DeFord
"The biggest lesson I have ever learned is the stupendous importance of what we think. If I knew what you think, I would know what you are, for your thoughts make you what you are; by changing our thoughts, we can change our lives." Dale Carnegie
"You are the possessor of a great and wonderful power. This power, when properly applied, will bring confidence instead of timidity, calmness instead of confusion, poise instead of restlessness, and peace of mind in place of heartache. What is your greatest power? The power to choose." J. Martin Kohe
"There are no great people in this world, only great challenges which ordinary people rise to meet." William Frederick Halsey, Jr.
